Ear Candles By Choice - FAQ's

A natural product for a natural outcome to natural problems!

What are Ear Candles and what are they made of?

Ear Candles By Choice are long hollow tubes of pure unbleached cotton muslin coated with beeswax. The manufacturer uses only bee wax of an acceptable standard, based on years of production. They also do not use paraffin. Paraffin is a petroleum based product, not natural unlike the beeswax and cotton muslin used.

The way Ear Candles work or don't work, depending on your point of view!

Many suggest the spiral of the cone helps the smoke to be pulled in to the ear canal. Whether this is true or not does not change the fact that smoke may come out around the ear, some of the time. Whether it does or not, it’s also possible that warm smoke could be generated from the lit candle and this may or may not in turn assist the ear canal to warm up and loosen wax and or any other material trapped within the ear.

It’s a general understanding that heat raises and it therefore may be safe to assume that such rising heat could be a form of energy that may or may not result in a cause and effect situation which may or may not pull deposits from the ear to some degree by creating or not creating a vacuum of a sort. Many believe the energy from the candle must go somewhere with equal and opposite effect, even when others clearly don’t.

As the candle burns you may hear cracking / hissing and the candle may smoke more than normal. It appears this is from foreign deposits in the candle. Clearing out this material more often than not reduces the smoke.

Ear Candling Instructions...

Have a bowl of water and damp cloth close at hand, scissors, matches or lighter, a toothpick or similar and a paper or foil plate. Ensure the patient is in a comfortable position on their side. Cut a small hole in the paper or foil plate. Insert a candle through the hole in the plate, place the small end gently in the ear canal and light the large end of the candle. If any smoke escapes from the tip around the ear itself, reposition the ear candle.

During the process, hold the candle at a slight angle [approx 20 degrees]. After a few minutes, remove the candle, trim the burning end into the bowl of water and clean out the tip with a toothpick or similar lightly taping any debris into the bowl. Light again and repeat this every three minutes or so. Let the candle burn down too no less than 7cm (3 inches) and safely extinguish. Repeat on the other side with remaining candle. When you’re finished, use the damp cloth to wipe any residue away from around the opening of the ear.

It can be helpful to look at the remains in an attempt to establish the frequency of additional treatments. These remains can be both a combination of light coloured wax, more likely from the light coloured candle and deep orange/brownish coloured deposits, which resembles ear wax and or something other than the candle itself. Sometimes you get no orange/brownish colour deposits while other times you may get clumps.

In stubborn cases it can help to use garlic oil capsules squeezed into ear canal over night to soften the ear wax. Use cotton wool to help keep the garlic oil in the ear canal. It is also a good idea to have a hot shower in the morning to help wash out the oil and warm the wax/oil/ear prior to the candling process, which should commence shortly thereafter. This is however no guarantee or claim in any way that ear candling will remove any ear wax, spiritually cleanse, or any other understanding, implied here or elsewhere for that matter.

Disclaimer

Ear Candles are not a medical device. No express claims are made as to the effectiveness of this product. Do not use ear candles if you have a perforated ear drum, ear infections or grommets in your ears. A small amount of ash may fall from the candle during the process, though this will be negligible and should not be of concern when following the suggested steps. Always keep the flame end up and tip down. You are using an open flame, so always be cautious and use common sense at all times. The Purchaser assumes all liabilities for their actions and patients well being. It is always best to have another person perform the candling on you.
